Established for over 30 years, our award-winning tours are delivered by some of Belfast’s original taxi drivers, men who actually worked the famous Falls Road and surrounding areas throughout the Troubles.
This history is deeply personal to us. Tragically, eight of our colleagues were murdered during the conflict.
Our company works with experienced Republican and Loyalist guides, providing visitors with perspectives from both communities and giving you the opportunity to hear the history from people who lived through it.
The North of Ireland has become famous for the murals painted in almost every area of the country. These artistic visions of our past and future are often flashed around the world on news bulletins or used as a backdrop when interviewing people.
They often depict the history and political views of both traditions and are a way of marking territory. These wall paintings often look intimidating but they have become as much of a tourist attraction when their history is explained as many of the regular attractions within Belfast and beyond.
Our guides have a full knowledge of the British-Irish conflict and can give you an in-depth tour of the murals and the reasons for their existence, the key sites, and the peace walls. This includes the Republican Falls Road, the birthplace of the Provisional IRA, and the Shankill loyalist area, the birthplace of the UVF/UFF. Your informative and educated guide will walk you through these streets, which still bear the scars of bullet holes and old army barracks.
The tour is 1 hour 45 minutes long, but we are often asked to continue the tour at a reduced cost because once our passengers get a sense of the scale and depth of Belfast’s troubled past, they just want to know more; as always, we are happy to oblige. This tour gives you an insight into Northern Ireland’s troubled and torn past but also the foresight to ensure you leave knowing the eclectic history and, additionally, the bright future that lies ahead for both sides of the community.
